This page will highlight ongoing developments relevant to international students and scholars amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will keep this page up to date as all information may be subject to change.

Summer 2020 Classes:
All classes for the summer 2020 semester will now be online only.
New international students outside the US cannot get an I-20 to be admitted for summer 2020 because they are not allowed to take all online courses.
Unfortunately, International Student and Scholar Services will not be able to process an I-20 for a summer 2020 program start date.
New international students can take online summer semester 2020 classes if they are admitted to the summer semester and remain physically outside of the USA while taking these online courses.
In this case students will be issued an I-20 at a later time once they are able to enter the US.
Cost of online courses:

New International Student Orientation
Please note, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic the dates below and physical format of New International Student Orientation may change.
The office of International Student and Scholar Services is monitoring pandemic developments and reviewing orientation options.
ISSS will inform students of changes to orientation through email and updates on this page.
Check In Day: August 10, 2020
Students check in with the office of International Student and Scholar Services and bring necessary documents.
Orientation Day: August 11, 2020
Students will hear important information from ISSS and campus partners.
Fall 2020 Classes:
The office of International Student and Scholar Services is currently issuing I-20’s for the 2020 fall semester.
New Mexico State University is planning to resume in person and on campus classes for the 2020 fall semester.
